Common questions

I forgot my password. On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password" and follow the email link. If the reset email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then email us.

I want to delete my account. In the mobile app, go to My Profile → Account → Delete account. Your data is removed permanently within 30 days. You can also export everything first via My Profile → Your data → Download my data.

How do I share a vessel with my spouse, family, or co-owner? On the vessel you want to share, tap Edit → Sharing → "+ Invite". Choose View only or Edit. They'll get an email with a link to accept.

I sold my boat — how do I hand it off? Vessel → Edit → Hand off this vessel. You'll need the buyer's email and the boat's HIN to confirm. The buyer gets the full history; you keep view-only access to records as of the transfer date.

Push notifications aren't arriving on my iPhone. Check Settings → Notifications → VesselFile → allow alerts. If notifications are enabled but reminders still don't fire, email us with your account email and we'll check the reminder schedule.

Security or privacy issue

Reporting a security vulnerability or a privacy concern? Please email [email protected] with "Security report" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge within 24 hours and won't take action against good-faith reporters.

VesselFile is built by a small team. We can't always reply within an hour, but we will always reply — usually the same day, never more than two business days unless we tell you otherwise.
